Getting to Canada

Regularly scheduled service to and from major Canadian cities is offered by major airlines throughout the world.
 

AIR CANADA
Canada's national carrier is Air Canada (888/247-2262). It offers flights to Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Halifax from the following North American cities: Whitehorse, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York (JFK), Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Spokane, and Washington, D.C.  From Europe, Air Canada flies direct from London to Calgary and Vancouver, and from other major cities via Toronto. South Pacific and Asian cities served include Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, Auckland, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Taipei, Nagoya, Beijing, and Tokyo, some by code-sharing agreements with other airlines. Air Canada flights originating in the South American cities of Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo are routed through Toronto.
 

U.S. AIRLINES
Air Canada (see above) offers to most flights into Canada from the United States, but major Canadian cities are also served by the following U.S. carriers: Alaska Airlines (877/502-5357), American Airlines (800/433-7300), Continental Airlines (800/231-0856), Northwest Airlines (800/225-2525), Skywest (800/221-1212), and United Airlines (800/864-8331).
 

FROM AROUND THE PACIFIC RIM

For all flights from the South Pacific, connections must be made in Los Angeles or Vancouver to other points in Canada. Qantas (800/227-4500) flies to Vancouver via Honolulu from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Air New Zealand (800/663-5494), operates in alliance with Air Canada to either Calgary or Vancouver, with a variety of interesting options including stops in South Pacific destinations like Nandi (Fiji).
